We want to be as transparent as possible when talking about sustainablity because we know that word gets thrown around a lot these days. You´re probably skeptical. We don't blame you - you've seen a lot of brands use sustainability as a marketing tool mainly focusing on the materials of the product rather than on the impact the creation of that product has on the planet. For us, being a conscious brand is at the top of our priorities, but so is giving you as much information as possible for you to make your own choice!

Did you know almost all elastic fabrics are made from plastic? Even when you think everything is natural, there is plastic somewhere in the supply chain.
Our pieces are hand crafted from recycled fabrics and regenerated nylon yarn derived from pre and post industrial waste such as discarded fishing nets, fabric scraps, carpet use, industrial plastic, tulle etc., all materials that once reached their useful life, would´ve otherwise ended up in the landfills.
In order to prevent this, these materials are recovered and regenerated into a soft and sustainable fabric, and given a SCND life.
Breakdown of some of our initiatives:
#1 Biodegradable packaging:
Our packaging is 100% a waste-free, home compostable mailer made out of plants. Unlike plastic bags, which vanish from our planet in up to 1000 years, our packaging will disappear in 6 months if composted. It is intended to replace the plastics of regular parcel packaging.
#2 Timeless designs:
A sustainable product starts with high-quality materials, goes through ethical production processes to a timeless, trend-free design that can be used for many years. Buying quality garments and using them for as long as possible is the simplest yet most impactful way to reduce your environmental footprint.
#3 Made from regenerated nylon:
Our clothes are made from regenerated nylon obtained from both pre- and post-consumer plastic waste, such as fishing nets from the oceans and aquaculture, fabric scraps from mills and carpets destined for landfill – and turning it into virgin quality nylon yarn.
#4 Certified fabrics:
Our recycled fabric is certified Standard 100 by Oeko-Tex, the world’s leader in testing fabrics to regulate harmful substances. They make sure every fabric’s origin and contents are totally upfront, so you know exactly what you’re putting on your body.
#5 Little to no waste:
We know sustainability goes way beyond recycled fabrics, which is why we prioritize giving a scnd life (wink, wink) to the deadstock fabrics and materials that are left over from past productions. Most of the accessories you´ll find in our page are made from these remaining materials and are all created with the goal of preventing waste from ending up in the landfills or the ocean.
#6 Small batch productions:
Smaller batches reduce the risk of substantial waste and take up fewer resources in production. It also means fewer “end result” products being thrown out if it’s discovered that it’s faulty or not selling well.
#7 Consciously handmade:
Our pieces are handcrafted by our community of talented seamstresses who carefully make every piece by hand in our women-owned studio in Mexico City. Our seamstresses work in a safe and ethical work environment receiving a fair wage and opportunities to grow as professionals in their trade.
And this is just the beginning! There is still a lot of work ahead of us, but we are constantly working towards building a more circular business model. By supporting us, you are not only getting a great product but you are also contributing to something bigger; your support shows that the fashion industry can move towards a more conscious way of producing. In the end, our goal is to build a movement around helping create a more sustainable lifestyle and future for all.
